What is this and how can it help my DNS server?

Are we right to assume you found this page by clicking on a link and now you're wondering what the heck it's all about? This little page is simply just a tool where DNS administrators can test their nameservers to see if they allow axfr/zone transfers. Since we've noticed a lot of systems that actually suffer from this, we decided to provide the public with a nifty tool to test their systems and hopefully spread the awareness of this problem.

How is this possible?

See the How page for a short description how it works. As for the lack of security auditing, that's up to the administrators to answer. Our guess is that people often share nameservers with other domains and therefore transfer zones more widely and not thinking about the fact that anyone can access it.
